According to research conducted by the creative resource Design Bundles, "Princess" wedding gowns are the most popular style of wedding dress, attracting 19,000 monthly searches on average. This makes "Princess" wedding gowns more popular than any other style of wedding dress. On September 5, 2021, the day after Lily Collins married Charlie McDowell wearing a long, fairy-tale gown with a sweeping hood, interest in princess-style wedding gowns skyrocketed to five times its average volume online. This surge in interest occurred on the 5th September 2021.

The following is a comment made by a spokesperson for Design Bundles in response to the findings:

Consider wearing a dress with a fishtail skirt if you are going to be attending an event at a stately home that will be high on both drama and old-fashioned romance. This silhouette pretty much explains itself, but in case you need some help visualizing it, think of it as an echo of a mermaid's tail. It is reminiscent of some of Hollywood's most memorable red carpet moments as well as the fact that it will never look out of date in any of your photographs due to the fact that it is fitted over the waist and hips and then flares out from the lower thighs or knees. The fishtail bandeau dress by Coast is a wonderful example of something you can find on the high street. Off-the-shoulder wedding dresses also manage to have a dusting of old school magic to them, particularly when teamed with a full-skirt below as the bottom layer of the dress.

Fashion Designer Sassi Holford's Career and Latest Bridal Collection 'Love Conquers All

Holford has been a prominent figure in the fashion industry for over 41 years, during which time she has designed bridal gowns for members of high society as well as royal brides. When Autumn Phillips married Peter Phillips in 2008, she gave Holford the commission to design her wedding dress. More recently, Holford was responsible for dressing Dame Helen Mirren for the Cannes and Venice film festivals. Her most recent bridal collection, titled "Love Conquers All," is her most impressive work to date. According to what Holford shared with Tatler, after the pandemic she felt the need to express a 'new' kind of energy by 'embracing' the moment rather than 'trundling along' in life. The extremely textural and glamorous collection focuses on fluid fabrics such as evening slipper and duchess satin, which Holford refers to as the "Queen of all fabrics." The collection also features a variety of other luxurious fabrics.

Grace Kelly's Iconic Wedding Dress: A Timeless Inspiration for Bridal Wear

The satin and lace gown that was made for Grace Kelly by the wardrobe department at MGM is widely regarded as one of the most stunning wedding dresses that have ever been created, and with good reason. The gown was an elaborate creation that was constructed in four separate parts and featured rose point lace details, seed pearl accents, a fitted long-sleeved bodice, and a flared skirt. As a result of her marriage to Prince Rainier in 1956, which elevated her to the position of Princess of Monaco, her wedding gown went on to become the standard for sophisticated bridal wear. Additionally, as you may have noticed, quite a few of the dresses featured in this roundup were inspired by Grace Kelly's.

Elizabeth, the Princess, and Philip, the Prince Mountbatten, the Mountbatten (1947)

The wedding took place at Westminster Abbey on November 20, 1947, and it was attended by Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip Mountbatten. Long-sleeved, with a high neckline, a tailored bodice, and a short train, the dress worn by Princess Elizabeth, who is now Queen Elizabeth II, was designed by Norman Hartnell.

Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the Shah of Iran, and Queen Soraya of Iran (1951)

The wedding took place at the Marble Palace in Tehran on February 12, 1951, between Queen Soraya of Iran and Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. She wore a dress that weighed 44 pounds and was made of 37 yards of silver lamé. It was strapless and was embellished with pearls, 6,000 diamond pieces, and 20,000 marabou feathers.

Mira Zwillinger's Ethereal and Whimsical 'Fifi' Dress: A Highlight in the 2022 Bridal Collection

Is it even considered a bridal round up if Mira Zwillinger is not included? The Israeli brand never fails to impress, season after season, with a bridal collection that takes inspiration from the ultra feminine world of couture. It goes without saying that she will be featured prominently on the list of the most stylish wedding dresses for 2022. With its sunburst pleated motifs and crystal details, the 'Fifi' dress from the most recent SS 2022 collection has a design that is ethereal and whimsical. It also perfectly captures the magic of the brand. The cape, much like the other "add ons" offered by the brand, gives a more modern feel to an otherwise traditional design.

Lace Trend for Wedding Dresses: From Elegant Accents to All-Over Design

Lace is a key trend for wedding dresses this year, and you can choose to wear it from head to toe or stick to more understated accents. You have the option of going all out with this trend, or keeping things simple if you prefer. Either way, it will lend a prim and pretty aesthetic to one of the most memorable outfits you'll ever wear. Lace details can focus on the necklace (like this elegant design by Monsoon), arms (if you're going for a long-sleeved dress for the day), or the entire fabric, making this a trend that can be worn with any style of dress. Lace details can also cover the entire fabric.

Fabrics for drapery that are fluid and lack significant structure

Fabrics that have a fluid drape are very drapey, meaning that they hang straight down and cling to the wearer's body. Fluid drape fabrics include silk satin, chiffon, georgette, crepe de chine, microfiber, and viscose. These types of fabrics are ideal for creating garments that are flowy or gathered, and they can be used for dresses, skirts, bridal tops, and flower girl outfits.

Fabrics with a moderate amount of drape and an average structure

Fluid drape fabrics are more limited in their potential uses than moderate drape fabrics. Fabrics with a moderate drape skim the body gently but do not pull away from the body in the same way that fabrics with a low drape do. Fabrics with moderate drape are neither soft nor crisp, but vary in the degree to which they flow. Dresses, modern bridal skirts and tops, and capes can all be crafted with these fabrics, which include chantilly lace, chiffon, and stretch satin.

A-Line Gowns: A Flattering Choice for Various Body Types

This is a popular choice that is well received by everyone. It fits closely up until the waist, after which it flares out into a gentle A shape, hence the name of the style. This silhouette is flattering on a wide range of body types. "An A-line gown hugs the waist area, creating a slimmer waistline while flattering the bust," adds Berry, "and this is a great choice for pear-shaped or curvy brides." Berry believes that this is a silhouette that hugs you in all the right places and that it is an excellent choice for brides who have a pear shape. Because of its overall slimming effect, it has the potential to make a short bride appear to be taller.
